On 14th March a group of Society members enjoyed a tour of Riverside Garden Centre where there were plenty of shrubs, plants and colourful spring flowers on show. We were given a very interesting and at times entertaining talk by our guide who explained that the garden centre was founded on a co-operative basis. Although now, 30 years later, it is run as an independent and takes care to work within the local community and with local charities. They have only recently enlarged their children’s area and cafe where after the tour we all adjourned for a warming drink. Riverside has an excellent website which is well worth looking at.

This was a very successful visit which we hope to replicate at another venue later in the year. We hope you will be able to join us.
